The Open Forum #75: The Portuguese Speaking Community as a Case Study on Digital Cooperation, promoted by ANACOM, took place yesterday. This event is part of the Internet Governance Forum, currently being held in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia).<\/div>

The session featured various personalities from the Lusophone community and aimed to discuss the importance of digital cooperation among Portuguese-speaking countries.<\/div>

  • David Gomes, Executive Secretary of ARCTEL<\/li><\/ul>

    The session highlighted the Portuguese language as a strategic asset, connecting a community spread across four continents, and emphasized the need to better leverage this resource in the context of global digital transformation.<\/div>

    Key Challenges Addressed<\/div>
    \u00a0<\/div>
    Among the challenges shared by the Lusophone Community and identified as priorities, the following stood out:

    <\/div>
    • Promoting digital inclusion;<\/li>
    • Strengthening technological cooperation and fostering economic, social, and political development, particularly by integrating the Portuguese language into artificial intelligence (AI);<\/li>
    • Enhancing the Lusophone Community's capacity to influence global debates on the future of the digital ecosystem, particularly within the ITU and the Internet Governance Forum.<\/li><\/ul>
