LusNIC General Assembly in São Paulo

The LusNIC General Assembly took place on September 20th, at 10:30 am, at the headquarters of the Núcleo de Informação e Coordenação do Ponto BR (NIC.br), in São Paulo.

The Assembly had the active presence of representatives of the six associates, namely the .pt, .br, .cv, .gw, .st, and .ao domains, and also had the participation of observers from Mozambique, including representatives of INTIC, Eduardo Mondlane University and the National Communications Institute of Mozambique.

On the agenda of the meeting, crucial points for LusNIC were highlighted:

  • Analysis and approval of the Activity and Accounts Report for 2018-2022;
  • Deliberation on the admission of new members, with particular attention to Mozambique (.mz);
  • Decisions regarding payment of dues and change of registered office;
  • Decisions regarding payment of dues and change of registered office;
  • Election of new members to the governing bodies;
  • Discussion on other matters of interest to the Association.

1st Lusophone Internet Governance Forum

On the 18th and 19h of September, the 1st Internet Governance Forum of the Lusophone Community will take place at the Museum of the Portuguese Language in São Paulo - Brazil.

Among the topics under discussion will be the Internet governance ecosystem, the Portuguese language on the Internet, the Global Digital Compact and the challenges and opportunities for the development of the Internet in Portuguese-speaking countries.
