LusNIC Organizes Cybersecurity Training in Cape Verde

LusNIC and ARME are organizing a cybersecurity training session, scheduled for September 10, 2024, from 2:30 PM to 6:00 PM, at TechPark in Cape Verde. The event offers both in-person and online participation options. 

The event will feature a presentation by VisionWare on the topics: Lusophony and Cybersecurity: The Challenges and Opportunities that Unite Us, and The Importance of a SOC (Security Operations Center) as a Digital Defense Against Cyber Threats. The training will address the increasing digitalization and interconnectivity of organizations, along with the resulting risks of cyberattacks, highlighting the need to prepare Lusophone organizations and countries to tackle these challenges through education, training, legislation, and technology. Strategies to invest in the training of qualified professionals, promote good digital security practices, and implement robust security policies will also be discussed.

The event will also include a presentation by PTSOCthe Security Operation Center of .PT, on the importance of cybersecurity in the context of ccTLDs, which are crucial to each country's internet infrastructure. The specific challenges faced by ccTLDs in defending against cyber threats, as well as opportunities to strengthen cyberspace through policies, emerging technologies, and international cooperation, will also be covered.

1st Lusophone Internet Governance Forum

On the 18th and 19h of September, the 1st Internet Governance Forum of the Lusophone Community will take place at the Museum of the Portuguese Language in São Paulo - Brazil.

Among the topics under discussion will be the Internet governance ecosystem, the Portuguese language on the Internet, the Global Digital Compact and the challenges and opportunities for the development of the Internet in Portuguese-speaking countries.
