The 9th edition of the Portuguese Internet Governance Forum (IPFGI) decorreu no dia 3 de novembro de 2022, na sede do .PT, o edifício Barra Barra, com o mote “Todos conectados. Uma internet segura, resiliente e sustentável”. Foram coorganizadores desta Iniciativa o .PT, a ANACOM, a FCT, o CNCS, a DECO e o CGI.br.
This year, we focused specifically on the topics of connectivity and protection of human rights; on trust, security and sustainability; on emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence, and also on the future that is foreseen for the Portuguese language in the digital era. This last topic was discussed in the panel “The presence of Portuguese on the Internet and in language technologies, and implications for Internet Governance”, moderated by Marta Moreira Dias, from the .PT Board of Directors and President of LusNIC, and with interventions by Gilvan Müller de Oliveira, UNESCO Chair in Language Policies for Multilingualism, António Branco, European Language Resource Association, and Heber Maia, CGI.br, Digital Government Secretariat, Ministry of Economy of Brazil. Following IPFGI, on November 4th, the .PT and the Brazilian Internet Steering Committee (CGI.br) organized a round table with some of the national players in the digital area, to exchange experiences and best practices. Topics such as Internet access, information security and personal data protection, digital transformation of the public sector or artificial intelligence were discussed.
