LusNIC co-organized the 1st Lusophone Internet Governance Forum

LusNIC integrated the organization of the 1st Lusophone Internet Governance Forum, together with .PT, CIG.br, NiC.br, INTIC and ARME.

This was the first initiative within the scope of the Internet Governance Forum that brought together countries linked by language, beyond geographic limits. Everyone, on an equal position, involved in the dialogue about a Portuguese-speaking Internet.

The event took place on the 18th and 19th of September in São Paulo, at the Portuguese Language Museum and at the NIC.br headquarters, and online.

Read here the São Paulo's Letter, the document approved by the participants of the 1st Lusophone Internet Governance Forum with the principles for continuing the annual initiative of these meetings. The next Forum, in 2024, will be held in Cape Verde.

1st Lusophone Internet Governance Forum

On the 18th and 19h of September, the 1st Internet Governance Forum of the Lusophone Community will take place at the Museum of the Portuguese Language in São Paulo - Brazil.

Among the topics under discussion will be the Internet governance ecosystem, the Portuguese language on the Internet, the Global Digital Compact and the challenges and opportunities for the development of the Internet in Portuguese-speaking countries.
