O 1º Fórum Lusófono da Governação da Internet, organizado pela LusNIC, .PT, CIG.br, NiC.br, e INTIC, foi reconhecido pelo Internet Governance Forum global, como sendo uma plataforma aberta, inclusiva e bottom-up para que todos os interessados dos países de língua portuguesa cooperem nos assuntos relacionados com a governação da internet. This first Lusophone Forum will take place on the 18th and 19th of September in São Paulo, Brazil, on the first day at the Portuguese Language Museum and on the second day at the NIC.br Headquarters. It will also be possible to follow online. 

Among the topics under discussion will be the Internet governance ecosystem, the Portuguese language on the Internet, the Global Digital Compact and the challenges and opportunities for the development of the Internet in Portuguese-speaking countries.
